Description
The Swimmers Collection was inspired by my years in Ironman triathlon, where hundreds of athletes begin the swim together, moving through the same stretch of water. In each painting, however, one swimmer moves in a different direction — a subtle detail that changes the entire composition. Perhaps it is simply a reminder of something familiar: being truly yourself in the sea of life.
At the heart of each Swimmers piece is a calm sea made of transparent epoxy resin — perfectly smooth, luminous, and with a subtle mirror-like reflection that transforms the surface into water. The resin slowly cures through a chemical reaction over time, which means each Swimmer typically takes about two to three weeks to complete.
All works are created on wood panels. The sea is first painted, along with the shadows of the swimmers and any floating elements. In some pieces I embed real sand to create small islands or coastlines.
Collectors can also send their own sand. Sometimes couples choose sand from a place that is meaningful to them — often a favorite beach — and the sands are mixed within the artwork, creating a quiet and very personal symbol.
Each artwork is an original piece, numbered and signed on the back with its own unique identification code. A small gold signature is also placed discreetly on one side of the painting. All pieces come ready to hang. If requested, a digital certificate of authenticity can also be provided in PDF format, via email.
